The avenue of olive trees in the Borsacchio Reserve

From sea level to the heights of the Abruzzo Apennines.

A family farm split between two very different places: the Borsacchio Nature Reserve, on the coast at Roseto degli Abruzzi, and the uplands of Cerchio, in the Marsica. This is where our extra virgin olive oil and our honey come from.

One family, two landscapes

The oil of the reserve

We use only olives from our own groves, some with centuries-old trees. We pick them by hand or with light harvesting aids, at the right ripeness, and take them to the mill within a few hours. Every season the oil is tested in a laboratory.

  • Leccinohardy tree, stands up well to the cold

Mountain honey

All our hives stand on the heights of Cerchio, in the Marsica. We make only mountain wildflower honey: the bees follow the wild blossoms of the upland meadows and woods, so the honey tells the story of the season and finds new nuances of colour, scent and texture every year. Always extracted cold.

Supply chain

From the tree to your batch

For us, transparency comes first. Every bottle and every jar carries a batch code: from here you can see where it comes from, who worked on it and what the laboratory tests say, which we publish.

Frequently asked questions

Orders and delivery

How can I order?

In the Shop choose products and quantities, then complete the order from the cart. You can pay by bank transfer: we send you the details after you order and prepare the order once the payment has arrived. Or you can reserve the products and collect them at one of our sites, in Roseto degli Abruzzi or Cerchio, paying on collection.

Do you deliver to your door?

Not yet: for now orders are collected at the farm, in Roseto degli Abruzzi or in Cerchio. When your order is ready we write to you to agree a day and time.

Can I change my mind after buying?

Yes. For online purchases you have 14 days from when you collect or receive the products to withdraw (Italian Consumer Code, art. 52), without giving a reason: use the withdrawal form at the bottom of the page or write to us. The details are in the terms of sale, also at the bottom of the page.

Can we visit you?

Yes, by appointment: write to info@le-quote.it saying which of the two sites you would like to visit.

Storage

How should I store the oil?

Away from light and heat, with the cap tightly closed. Oil is at its best in the months after milling: that is why the label always shows the harvest season.

How should I store the honey?

In a cool, dry place, away from direct light and heat, with the lid tightly closed: honey easily absorbs moisture and smells. It does not need the fridge. Always use a clean, dry spoon to take it out.

Natural appearance

There is sediment at the bottom of the container: is that normal?

Yes. We do not filter the oil any further, so that it keeps its full concentration of polyphenols and the aromatic notes that define our oil: the sediment at the bottom is the sign of that choice, not a defect. If you prefer, let the container rest and pour gently.

My honey has set solid: is that normal?

Yes. Crystallisation is a natural process and does not spoil the honey; how fast it happens depends on the year’s flowers, which is why our wildflower honey crystallises differently every year. If you prefer it liquid, warm the jar in a water bath without going above 40 °C.

Traceability

Where do I find the batch code?

On the label, preceded by the letter L, next to the best-before date. It identifies the batch: from that code we trace back the harvest, processing and tests.

Can I see the test results?

Yes. We test our oil and honey every year and publish each season’s laboratory values on the site’s Analyses page and on every product page.
